We recently received Kawaii Box’s September box. This month’s theme was Sweet School Reunion, and it was perfect for getting ready for the back to school season! Each box comes with a helpful guide that will explain each item included. You can even learn some Japanese with the “Word of the Month,” on the brochure, which always goes with the theme! This month, we learn the word for school, which is がっこう (gakkō).

The first product pulled from the box was the Sanrio Characters Tote Bag. It features the adorable Sanrio character Cinnamoroll! The bag itself is great quality, and can fit a good amount of books or other items in it. It even has a zippered pocket for smaller essentials and a clasp at the top to keep everything inside. It’s a perfect bag to use for school and would be a great way to get excited and prepared for the new school year!
Next is the Pudgy Sumikko Gurashi Plushie charm. The plushies included in this box are from Sumikko Gurashi, and I got the green penguin! He’s super soft and squishy like a marshmallow, and he’s too adorable not to love. The plush also comes with a chain so it can attach to a bag or backpack. A perfect little friend to keep you company during the school day!
Kawaii Boxes also come with a little snack! This month’s snack was a strawberry wafer taiyaki. I may be biased as I love both taiyaki and strawberry flavor, but this snack was delicious! It was sweet with a nice strawberry flavor but not too decadent. It was similar to strawberry wafer cookies, but lighter and airier.
Japan is famous for its amazing stationery. The country is home to some of the best and most unique stationery and tools for creative expression. Because of this, Kawaii Box always includes stationary or writing utensils. It’s perfect for this month’s back to school theme! This month, an adorable bear themed pencil is included. It is simplistic but sweet, with a cute little bear charm on top. You’re sure to ace your tests with these bears by your side!
On the topic of Japan’s amazing school supplies, this next item is one of the coolest out there! It is a case of colorful, cake-scented erasers! These erasers have such a nice smell; sweet like candy and not artificial! The erasers are also kneaded, which makes them easier to use than a standard eraser. In addition to that, they can be shaped and molded into anything you want!
Lastly, you need somewhere to use your new school supplies! Included in this box is a colorful Blippo notebook that is perfect for jotting down your thoughts and memos. The gorgeous, pastel covers include a cute, happy sundae on one side and kawaii symbols on the other! The inside pages are purple and also include adorable drawings along the borders.
